Markit Collects Five Awards
London and New York, NY – Markit, a leading provider of independent data, portfolio valuations and OTC derivatives trade processing, today announced it has won the 2008 Inside Market Data and Inside Reference Data Awards for ‘Best Data Provider for Derivatives’; ‘Best Evaluated Prices Service Provider’; and ‘Best New Data Product’ for the Markit Desktop, a real-time cross-asset display of proprietary and key third party content.
These awards recognise industry excellence within market data, reference data and enterprise data management. Nominees were selected by the editorial team and financial market end-users voted for the winners.
Markit has also topped the 2008 Real Business/LDC Hot 100 league table. With an average growth rate of 234 per cent per annum in sales over the past four years, Markit is the UK’s fastest growing privately owned company.
In addition, Markit has been named ‘Best Overall Data Provider of the Year’ in the 2008 TradeTech European Awards. European industry participants active in equities nominated service providers and the winners were selected by a panel of experts.
“It is an honour to receive these important awards which recognise our product excellence and constant innovation,” said Lance Uggla, Chief Executive Officer of Markit. “We will continue to provide our customers with the services they need to improve risk management and operational efficiency, and we remain committed to bringing greater transparency to the broad financial markets.”
