Director/Vice President, Global Head of Operations – Valuations Manager
Role Summary
Markit is the leading provider of independent, multi-asset class, high value services for the global financial market. Our independent pricing, reference data, portfolio valuations, trade processing and desktop solutions are used around the world to enhance trading operations, monetize data, reduce risk and manage compliance initiatives.
The Markit Valuations Manager service will be a new offering that leverages several product areas and aggregates counterparty pricing information across both OTC derivative and cash instruments alongside workflow tools, audit trail, and independent valuations.
.The position will provide the opportunity to contribute design input, build and manage a support team, and work with numerous Markit customers on a daily basis guiding clients through the implementation process.
Duties and Accountabilities
- The senior role will be based in Europe with responsibility globally for second tier support and day to day operations of the platform. Responsibilities include:
- Building and managing the support team, processes, and structure globally (initially in Europe and North America, then Asia) which includes data integrity, 2nd tier client support, and system testing/quality assurance areas;
- Ensure that the support and escalation procedures can scale to accommodate rapid growth in client base and platform utilization and meet SLAs;
- Create operations metrics and monitor support performance;
- Coordinate with Technology team to monitor system uptime, respond to system performance, outage, or data integrity issues and communicate to clients;
- Through QA team direct reports, coordinate with Technology team to manage system upgrades, rollouts, and testing with clients;
- Manage client onboarding process including training, configuration, and setup;
- Provide input to Product team on system enhancements, operational improvement plans etc.;
- Actively contribute as management member of product team
Business Competencies
- Significant experience in financial services;
- Strong preference for experience in Operations and/or Client
- Valuations/Collateral within an investment bank;
- Client Services/ Relationship Management Experience in corporate environment
- Deep knowledge of financial markets and OTC Derivatives is required
- Graduate preferred in finance/ numerical discipline
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and respond to critical support issues
- Strong problem solving skills
- Service driven with extremely strong customer orientation
