Associate, RAC Oracle Developer

Duties and Accountabilities

Markit is in the progress of a large scale restructuring of our database infrastructure, as such we need a team to assist in the development, deployment and maintenance of this framework.

Technical Skills

• Experience of developing with oracle 10i and above.
• Knowledge of oracle RAC environment would be advantageous.
• Experience of investigating and resolving database level issues, knowledge of query plans and optimization would be a benefit.
• Knowledge of unix or linux is a definite benefit
• The candidate must has excellent problem solving skills
• Knowledge of full lifecycle processes.
• Experience of svn or cvs will be beneficial.
• The ideal candidate will have proven development ability.

Business Competencies

• Strong academics in a numerical discipline or equivalent preferred.
• Consistent track record of delivery to excellent standards
• Able to work competently on your own or within a team, taking a project through complete lifecycle.
• Be comfortable dealing with senior individuals with a strong client and service orientation.

• Must have a self-starting, driven, assertive and positive attitude
• Ability to meet internal/external deadlines
• Personable and able to demonstrate initiative
• Able to work well under pressure.
• High level of competency and good communication skills both written and verbal required
