Associate, Data Analyst, Markit Boat
Role Summary
Markit BOAT is a MiFID-compliant trade reporting platform which enables investment firms to meet their pre-trade quoting and post-trade reporting obligations for all their European OTC equity trades. The platform collects, collates, validates and stores OTC trade data and publishes it to the market in real-time.
Over 25 leading investment houses use Markit BOAT to meet their OTC equity MiFID reporting obligations. With the ever-increasing client base there is a requirement for additional members of our Operations Team with a specific focus on Markit BOAT. This team is responsible for primary client support across all of the Markit BOAT equity products and is a key part of our operational structure.
The Operations Team is responsible for participating in all aspects of receiving, evaluating and resolving Markit client issues in a timely fashion. Team members focus on providing a first-class service that contributes to measurable increase in client satisfaction and enhanced business value to Markit. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all contact with clients leaves them with a positive view of our organisation.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Develop a detailed understanding of the Markit BOAT Client Application and database structure
- Provide secondary level of support to all client institutions
- Conduct analytics on large OTC equity pricing datasets
- Identify opportunities to maintain and improve the operational efficiencies of the data collection, processing and reporting framework
- Enhance and automate validation and verification processes
- Utilise technical skills to continually automate the data monitoring process and improve operational efficiency
Business Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a numerical, financial or scientific discipline
- Expertise in Excel, VB and SQL
- Past experience with the equity markets would be beneficial
- Strong written and oral communication skills and a high degree of professionalism
